Overview

Devcon 2024 in Bangkok was the largest gathering of Ethereum developers in years — and Filecoin Foundation needed a presence that felt native to the moment. The brief was to create a complete brand environment for FIL Bangkok, a flagship side event running alongside Devcon, that could hold its own visually against major protocol teams and communicate Filecoin’s relevance to a technically sophisticated audience.

Approach

Creative direction covered the full event identity: spatial branding, environmental graphics, stage design, and all printed and digital collateral. The visual language drew on Filecoin’s existing brand system but was adapted for a denser, more technical context — less marketing, more signal. Motion direction for the recap video involved briefing and directing a motion design team on pacing, narrative arc and visual tone, ensuring the final cut felt like documentation of a genuine moment rather than a promotional asset.

Outcomes

FIL Bangkok landed as one of the most visually coherent side events at Devcon 2024. The recap video extended the event’s reach across Filecoin Foundation’s social channels and community platforms, functioning as both a record of the event and a piece of brand storytelling. Motion direction was handled entirely at the art direction level — defining the brief, reviewing cuts, and shaping the final output without hands-on production work.
